I’m not seeing the issue here…

This is a quick follow up to yesterday’s ‘Wii on a 50″ TV’ debacle. It turns out that some people are upset about the use of the space in general, not just the poor choice of gaming consoles. Take a look at this:

“This is a ministry that’s laying off park rangers to save money at the same time as they spend money on pool tables,” fumed NDP environment critic Rob Fleming. – The Province

Yes, and now the park rangers have somewhere they can go to pass the time that they would usually spend being bored in parks. Which would you rather do, Mr Fleming, watch some trees grow or play pool, foosball and DDR2? Think it through before you answer…

And it’s not all bad news, anyhow. The killer new space isn’t the Environment-Ministry-Only club you may expect:

Penner said he has again asked his staff to come up with alternative ideas for the facility. “We’re going through a period of downsizing right now, so if there is another branch of government that might be able to use that space as we consolidate operations, then I’d be willing to consider that.” – The Province

So if folks at the Ministry of Public Safety or the Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport want to stop by for some Wii Golf, they are more than welcome. They do have to bring their own snacks, though, and get they will need their parents’ permission if they want to sleep over.
