Barry Penner and John Les are on a hit-list of 24 MLAs targeted by the anti-HST forces for recall.

Is there anybody that is anywhere close to John Les in presence, authority, or the ability to pull off that tie? I don’t think so. And neither does that police officer there. He knows it, you know it, and you had better believe that John Les knows it.  John Les is a totally rockin’ dude.

So here’s what’s going to happen: I am going to choose five BPiA classics – images from the posts of yesteryear – that I figure prove Barry Penner’s awesomeness in more ways than the one that I have already highlighted. I will post one each day at the regular time and invite everyone to explain to the world exactly how it displays Barry Penner’s awesomeness. Posting is easy. On the main page, just click on the number in the sun at the bottom of the post you want to comment on. Scroll down to the “Leave a reply” section, give it your name, email address, and (if you want) your website. Enter your comment, hit submit, and away you go! Your email address is only used to identify you the next time you post (skipping the moderation queue if you’ve been approved before), and will not be seen by anybody except me (you will also never get any email from me). Your name and link to your website will be displayed to everyone.

A few rules:

• Keep it clean. This site is family-friendly (much like Barry Penner). I will not allow any posts that I wouldn’t want my mother to see, so keep that in mind.
• All posts from new posters will be held for approval. If yours doesn’t show up right away, don’t panic. I’ll get to it eventually (unless it violates the above rule).

First, it seems that we have been getting a little attention these past few days (the word is spreading!), so I have created a totally new section of the website to chronicle it: Praise for BPiA. I admit it, it’s completely self serving and of no interest to anybody but me. Check it out anyway!

Second, BPiA now has a Twitter account. All new posts here will show up there as they are posted, along with my occasional Barry Penner-related thoughts that fit in 140 characters or less. All the fun of BPiA with almost none of the content!

Hmmm… not bad, not bad at all. Excellent framing, good use of colour… sure, it is missing a certain something, but decent nonetheless. So, who is it that took this adequate picture?

Not content with just any old photographer, the esteemed publication acquired a picture of the Furry Creek plant near Squamish taken by none other than Environment Minister Barry Penner. – The Victoria Times Colonist

Well how about that! So, what did our lovable Environment Minister get from the Journal in exchange for this magnificent specimen of the photographic arts? Stacks of cash? A free subscription? A lovely ‘thank you’ bouquet, perhaps?

Why, those dirty scumbags! What kind of third rate publication takes people’s photos and doesn’t give them anything more than some measly credit? You sure are lucky that newspapers are already on the way out, WSJ, because you know Barry Penner would usually take you down for a slight like that.
