It seems that Barry Penner has run out of fish for his world famous Salmon Smolt Surprise. Luckily, he can borrow a beakerful from his neighbour.

I just hope it’s up to his exacting standards.

I’m not sure exactly what Barry Penner is cooking there that requires two and three quarter cups of salmon smolts, but I’m sure it’s going to be super tasty. You can tell he’s excited about it.

Perhaps it’s for some sort of chip dip.

Barry Penner and his rag-tag gang pose for a picture following their daring daylight robbery of a truck full of live trout. They will eat like kings tonight… then release all the live trout back into The Environment tomorrow.

If you see someone squatting in a stream with a bucket and a huge grin, you would usually wonder what sort of shenanigans they are up to. Not so with Barry Penner; you know exactly the type of shenanigans he’s up to: Environmental ones.

Barry Penner isn’t quite sure why somebody would drive around with a trailer full of sturgeon, but that won’t stop him from giving it the ol’ one-leg-up dynamic pose. Fish are part of The Environment, so it’s probably something to do with him.

Barry Penner always gets good mileage out of his photos. Why have a photo with just Rick Hansen or just a giant slimy fish when you could have your picture taken with BOTH at the SAME TIME. That’s why he’s the Barry Penner and you aren’t.

This may just look like a small pond, but Barry Penner has the ability to catch a record number of fish no matter how small the body of water is. You should have seen his haul from his neighbour’s kiddie pool.

Barry Penner never talks about ‘the one that got away’. He catches EVERY fish EVERY time he goes out.

Barry Penner personally inspects all fish that are intended to go out into The Environment to make sure they aren’t the dreaded yellow-bellied sturgeon, native to BC’s southeast. It’s a slimy job, but he loves it.
